Trafikverket has hired Helena Eriksson as the new Director of Transport Administration of the northern region.

“As Regional Director, I want to help drive the development of society in the region,” Ms Eriksson said. “Trafikverket will be a key player in efforts to increase the availability here in northern Sweden.”

Ms Eriksson currently works as the head of Purchasing and Logistics at the Finnish Transport Agency in Luleå and she has extensive experience as a manager in both the Swedish Transport Administration and the Swedish Road Administration.

“Helena, with her collective expertise and experience [is the] right person to lead the region and continue to pursue community development issues for the Swedish Transport Administration on behalf of our northern region,” added Stefan Engdahl, Swedish Transport Administration’s Planning Director.

Transport Administration’s Current Regional director of the north, Arnold Vonkavaara, will become the head of the Transport Administration Program ‘Upgrading of the railway’ when Ms Eriksson takes over as the new Regional Director of the north from 1 September 2017.
