The vehicles will enter service in 2019 between Prague and Kladno commencing from the new Prague Masaryk Station.

Requirements of Czech Railways

ČD requests that all new trains will need to be air-conditioned, reach a minimum speed of 120 km / h and have a minimum capacity of 120 seats.

Commenting on the tender, Paul Mole, Chairman and CEO of ČD, said: “Suburban transport that combines the advantages of regional and urban transport is developing rapidly throughout Europe. In the vicinity of large conurbations trains quickly gain passengers and this line is no exception. It is due to the state of road transport in the capital, limiting parking in some locations in Prague, but also to the emergence of a new logistics centre in Dobrovíz”

“We need modern units with higher capacity; customers can indulge in a better traveling culture,” Mr Mole added.
