RB Rail AS has announced Design Guidelines for Rail Baltic/Rail Baltica Railway open competition to provide engineers with a standardised approach to its design.

Design Guidelines for Rail Baltic/Rail Baltica Railway open competition has be announced by Rail AS in order to provide engineers with a standardised approach to the Rail Baltic/Rail Baltica design, which will be mandatory for design, construction and operations of the infrastructure and will be endorsed by respective national authorities, if applicable. Proposals are to be submitted by 03 March 2017.

Rail Baltic/Rail Baltica is the planned construction of a new EU gauge double-track electrified railway line from Tallinn to Riga, Kaunas and Warsaw. It is designed to eliminate the technical bottleneck due to gauge differences (1520 vs.EU 1435 mm). The project is part of the TEN-T North Sea-Baltic corridor with the procurement and subject matter co-financed by Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).

A Proposal for participation in the procurement shall be submitted personally, by courier or registered mail to the RB Rail AS, Kr. Valdemara iela 21, room 639, Riga, LV-1010, Latvia by March 3, 2017 till 10:00 AM (EET).
