Today, the Eress organization has won an UIC award for its Erex system. Erex helps Infrastructure Managers and Train Operators to reduce energy consumption, saving money and reducing C02 emissions. The Jury was impressed by the technical aspects of the system, delivering a unique way of measuring, monitoring and accurately billing railway energy. More than that, the Jury was impressed by the cooperation between railway companies and the practical “can-do” attitude of Eress partners.

Eress is a partnership between Banedanmark (Rail Net Denmark), Infrabel (Belgian Railway Infrastructure Manager), Jernbaneverket (Norwegian National Rail Administration) and Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration). Eress is a nonprofit organization, jointly owned by its partners, committed to the development, implementation and supply of the energy settlement solution called Erex.
