Brittany Loire Valley high-speed line: RFF selects Eiffage

This 3.4 billion euro infrastructure project will be one of Europe’s biggest work sites over the next five years.

Réseau Ferré de France has selected Eiffage as its “preferred bidder” for the publicprivate partnership contract to design, build, maintain and fund the Brittany – Loire Valley high-speed line. (more…)

Atkins-led consortium wins design work on Denmark’s high speed rail line

Atkins has been chosen as part of a consortium to design the first stretch of high speed enabled rail line in Denmark. The award by Rail Net Denmark will see the construction of 60km of new line linking into the 180km route from Copenhagen to the German border. (more…)

Developing high-speed rail transport in Russia

The changing economic situation in Russia, and the increase in business and transport activity among the country’s population in recent years, served as an incentive to draw up the Programme for the Development of High-Speed and Very High-Speed Transport, as part of the Strategy for Developing Rail Transport in the Russian Federation up to 2030, adopted by the Russian government in June 2008.

The company is confident that the implementation of this programme will allow it to position rail, in the passenger transport sector, as a competitive service able to provide a high-quality transport product for the Russian population, while yielding profits for the company. (more…)

The kick-off for Italo has been set

NTV, the first Italian private high-speed operator, will start commercial service in September 2011. We officially announced the kick-off date in a press conference we held in Rome at the end of May 2010. We therefore have 15 months of tough work ahead to complete the necessary steps to ultimate the preparation phase of our project.

It’s not easy, but we’re very excited by this fascinating challenge and we feel confident we’ll respect this strict time schedule. Or philosophy can be summarised by our brand new slogan, chosen by our Marketing Division: ‘Italo, il tuo treno’ (‘Italo, your train’). With this claim we’d like to underline that Italo is conceived for the needs of every kind of traveller. The slogan is also the welcome message of the new NTV site (www.ntvspa.it). But to keep this promise we have to work hard every day on each field we’re engaged in. (more…)
