Scandinavian Urban Transport 2010 logoScandinavian Rail Development 2010, hosted by SJ brought together over 120 of the most senior rail experts from the region. Sponsored by Alstom, Ansaldo STS, Bombardier, Nokia Siemens Networks, Rhomberg, Cactus, Rock Delta, Teltronic and Tensar, the event is established as the leading conference for heavy rail in the Nordic countries. As a result of feedback from key business contacts in the region we are now organising Scandinavian Urban Transport – the next in our series of leading transport conferences focusing on the Nordic region.

Increasingly governments are urging passengers to use public transport and in order to get people off the roads they must offer a fully integrated transport network. Scandinavian Urban Transport – a Eurotransport Magazine conference will discuss this integration and what is being done to provide the major cities throughout the Nordic countries with an efficient and user friendly service. From buses to trams, light rail to metro, the expansion of every city network is key to providing a greener environment, reduced congestion and ultimately deliver what the passengers demand.

The region represents one of the most forward thinking in the world in terms of providing such services. As development continues major projects continue to attract interest and best in class solutions are providing the cities with efficient, greener solutions. From Europe’s largest tram network (Gothenburg) to the Bergen Light Rail project in Norway, Helsinki’s 2012 Vision to Malmo City Tunnel project, attendees will gain an insight into all of the major projects throughout the Nordic countries.

Scandinavian Urban Transport will provide a detailed insight as to the current state of play with mobility plans from the perspective of operators, transport authorities, infrastructure owners and all other interested parties. These are the organisations that are shaping the future of city transport throughout Scandinavia’s major cities.
