EIM, the association of European Rail Infrastructure Managers, was set up in 2002, following the liberalisation of the European railway market, to promote the interests and views of independent railway infrastructure managers in Europe.

EIM works to improve the development of the rail transport mode. It acts as an advocacy organisation towards the EU institutions, and together with industry partners, provides technical expertise to European bodies, such as the European Railway Agency.
