Talgo’s main objective since the establishment of the company in 1942 has been the constant research and development of innovative, simple and efficient solutions for railway operators not only in the field of rolling stock but also in providing integrated maintenance services customised according to the operator’s needs. Talgo trains cover today the main high speed and intercity connections in Spain as well as international routes from Spain to Portugal, France, Italy and Switzerland. Outside Spain, Talgo trains run in Germany, USA and Kazakhstan and in 2010, in Bosnia & Herzegovina with international routes to Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia. Talgo provides complete maintenance services to national railway operators (DB, AMTRAK and Temir Zholy).

In Spain, Talgo has been the number 1 supplier of intercity trains with speeds of 200 km/h for over decades and it is now in the process of becoming the first supplier of high speed trains with the Talgo 250 High Speed train with variable gauge and dual voltage and the Talgo 350 Very High Speed train, designed for speeds of 350 km/h. Talgo’s main manufacturing plants are located in Madrid and in the Basque country and the maintenance workshops are located in Madrid (2), Barcelona (1) and Malaga (1).
