Alstom to acquire connectivity solutions provider Nomad Digital

Alstom has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Nomad Digital from Amadeus Capital Partners, SEB Venture Capital and Deutsche Telekom Strategic Investments together with other investors.
Providing connectivity solutions to the railway industry, Nomad Digital employs approximately 230 people with headquarters based in Newcastle and a further 13 additional offices worldwide.

Commenting on the acquisition, Pascal Cléré, Senior Vice-President for Digital Mobility at Alstom, said: “This acquisition illustrates our strategy to offer more and more tailor made solutions to our customers. We are very confident in the success of this new activity as Nomad Digital enables operators to significantly enhance the passenger experience. These new skills and technologies will enable us to accelerate the digitalisation of our offering”
Alstom has previously worked with Nomad Digital to install WiFi on its Coradia Continental trains in Germany and on the New Pendolino trains for SBB in Switzerland.

According to Alstom, transaction closure is expected to occur in early January 2017. Nomad Digital will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary, retaining its brand and independent identity.
