Following a competitive tendering process, Flytoget’s existing internet connectivity infrastructure will now be updated to Icomera’s cloud-based system of management tools, designed for remote monitoring and maintenance of the on-board Wi-Fi solution.
Toril Dyrkorn, CIO for Flytoget said: “We are very happy to sign a contract with Icomera to provide much-needed on-board connectivity to our passengers. Our customers tell us that stable, fast and secure Wi-Fi provision is an essential part of their travel, and we are thrilled to have found a partner who can meet customer demand.”
Saeed Bashirian, Vice President Sales EMEAR & CIS for Icomera, said: “We are pleased to enter into partnership with such a forward-thinking operator, working together to meet both present need and future demand.”
Carrying 6.8 million people in 2014, the service connects the airport with the city centre in just 19 minutes. Flytoget is the only high-speed rail service in Norway, with trains operating at a top speed of 210kph / 130mph.
