The trains will operate on the Zwolle–Kampen and Zwolle–Enschede lines, with services scheduled to begin in December 2017.
16 FLIRT3 EMUs to be delivered in June 2017
The contract, worth approximately €125 million, includes the delivery of trains together with a 15 year maintenance contract. The 16 electric FLIRT3 trains are split into nine three-carriage and seven four-carriage multiple-unit trains, and have a maximum speed of 160 kilometres per hour. The sold vehicles comply with the new 2014 TSI standards, meaning they are state-of-the-art in terms of noise-pollution levels, energy efficiency and access for persons with reduced mobility. The first trains will be produced in Switzerland and delivered in June 2017 to allow type tests to be completed.
Orders received over the last 18 months have already included 58 FLIRT trains for NS Reizigers and six two-carriage FLIRT trains for Abellio.
