A-level students sought for Apprenticeships with DB Schenker Rail

Students from across England and Wales who are expecting their A-level results this Thursday, 18 August 2011, could see themselves on the route to a successful career in rail freight.
DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd, the UK’s largest rail freight operator, is seeking 13 management apprentices from across the UK to train to become operational and engineering rail freight leaders of the future.
High numbers of students have already contacted the company to express their interest in the schemes and to provisionally make applications subject to final A-level results, or an equivalent level of qualification, due to be delivered this Thursday.
The apprentice scheme is attractive as a full training programme will be provided for successful applicants, lasting two years for assistant production manager apprenticeships and three years for operational management trainee apprenticeships and engineering management apprenticeships.
At the end of the training programme, the apprentices will become permanently employed as managers, starting their successful careers at DB Schenker Rail.
The locations where apprentices are sought for are: Bescot, Eastleigh, Ipswich, Leicester, Margam, Newport, Saltley, Scunthorpe, Stoke, Toton, Warrington and Wigan.
Starting salaries vary according to the role. For operational management trainee this is £12k rising to £15k in year two and £23k in year three, £20k for engineering management apprentices and for assistant production manager apprentices £25+K.
